K-AN'T is a Singapore-based cover band specializing in anime soundtracks and Japanese music. The band primarily performs at anime conventions and underground music festivals celebrating Japanese music. Their live shows offer fans a chance to experience popular anime songs and J-rock hits in a dynamic concert setting.
I am the art director for this project. I'm in charge of the branding, direction, and the overall look and feel of the brand. I did the core branding and collaterals they use for promotions and websites.
K-AN'T (pronounced 'Kei-ant') draws inspiration from anime and musical playfulness. Our branding aims to communicate key values: Creativity, Joy, Quality, Freedom, Empowerment, Performance, Playfulness, and Passion.
Taking inspiration from the anime 'Bocchi the Rock!' and, we adopted the heroines' hair colors as our main brand palette. This choice infuses our brand with instant recognition and character.
Once we finalized the logo, I created different brand assets for various layouts. To enhance the playful aesthetic, I created custom elements, textures, and patterns. These elements can be used if the space allows for it, always being mindful to maintain a clean, uncluttered look.
This approach ensures our brand remains vibrant and engaging, while still conveying a sense of quality and professionalism.
Now armed with a solid branding foundation, I dove into the world of bold colors and cute illustrations. Creating cute and playful social media posts became irresistible to me. My enthusiasm didn't stop there - I even designed band merchandise, letting my imagination run wild. There's something I love about maximalist and loud designs; it's a style I embrace and truly resonates with my creative spirit.
Live performances often come with LED backdrops, presenting a perfect canvas. I seized this opportunity to craft visuals that are both cute and eye-catching. My goal was to enhance the band's already stellar performance with captivating backgrounds. These visuals not only grab the audience's attention but also boost the band's recognition. It's about creating a complete sensory experience that complements the music and leaves lasting impressions.
The website is the band's digital home, and it's crucial to make a strong first impression. I designed the website to be visually engaging and easy to navigate. The site is optimized for mobile devices, ensuring a seamless experience for fans on the go.
