Three years ago, I relocated to Singapore and joined PropertyGuru, where I had the opportunity to make a significant impact. My proudest achievements include creating a new Lead Management dashboard and contributing to the HIVE Design System, which is now being implemented across all the company's products.
Prior to this, I lived in Cavite, Philippines, with my immediate family and grandparents. As a Filipino household with diverse heritage — Chinese roots from my grandmother and Hispanic influences from my grandfather — taught me valuable lessons in empathy, active listening, and understanding others' needs. These skills have proven essential in honing my problem-solving abilities.
My professional journey began when I moved to Manila for college and pursue my career. I spent four years as a consultant at Accenture's Liquid Studio, gaining experience across various industries and in innovation. During this time, my team won the Ideas to Outcome competition in 2018, and I was part of a different team that reached the finals in 2019.
I like attending design event meetups. These gatherings provide me valuable insights into other designers' personal journeys and offer lessons that I can use to enhance my own career. As someone new to the country, these events are also excellent networking opportunities, allowing me to connect with like-minded creative professionals. I view these meetups as quality time with our design team, where we can explore our creativity and socialize out of work.
When I'm not designing, you'll find me indulging my creative side in other ways. I love sketching fun illustrations, collecting figurines, going for walks to clear my head, and staying active. I'm also into photography and music - I play an instrument and sing. Basically, I'm an artist at heart, always looking for new ways to express myself and bring creativity to what I do.
I'm a wanderlust - give me a tropical beach or a city with changing seasons, and I'm down! These adventures do more than just clear my head; they're a window in how different cultures see the world. It's amazing how much this helps me in my work. I find myself picking up on little details about how people interact with their environment, which helps my approach to human-centered design. Each journey not only clears my mind but also sharpens my ability to create meaningful design — it makes me better at what I do.
